Like millions of common civilians in this world; I used to get up every morning with sense of pride to go for work to earn living with dream of hope that I will be rewarded for my hard work. Every day I hope to return back home to give love to my family and loved ones, to enjoy lovely dinner with them. Thus every day I used to end my day in peaceful sleep.
Today I am same common civilian who in spite of reaching home could not end day in peaceful sleep. Unlike me, many never came back to offer warmth of love and affection to their loved ones. Those who could not return were innocent civilians of Mumbai who got blown away by bullets in hotels, train or got caught in one or other dreadful carnage. Death of innocent lives that were recently slaughtered for no cause is the cause of deep concern.
Mumbai massacre was worse and horrible anti social act of recent times. This massacre has killed many, wounded many and left many orphan, leaving tears and scares on the face of millions. If we don’t act for better tomorrow, incidence of innocent lives getting victims of bloodshed carnage will never end.
Due to various anti social activities there is some of the question which has poised everyone’s attention - Do we live in a calm and prosperous community? Are we better off in 21st century than ever before? Could we patronize our future generation with the strong foundation of 21st century? Do we have real solution to deal with anti social elements causing violence? Where are we now and how we perceive our future?
We now live in completely different society as compared to that of primitive age. Our society indeed has shown tremendous improvement by adapting all those innovative ideas ideas/methods of 19th and 20th century innovation towards pursuit of happiness. With of lots of innovations of the 19th and 20th century in all disciplines such as energy, education, economy, medicine and health treatment, transportation, information technology etc. ,have given new dimension to for modern welfare society.
But still there are some of many issues which we are still facing since the beginning of the 21st century. There are still lots of concerns, to which there is no ready answer. Terrorism is one of the worse problems, which we all are facing in recent times. It has grown more intense than ever before.
Almost all country directly or indirectly is afflicted by the acts of terrorism. Some of the highlights of outrageous terror operation of 21st century across the world are – 9/11, London underground bombing, 2002 Bali Bombing, Indian parliament attack, series of continuous attack in India’s all major cities in year 2008. Most recent one was attack on Mumbai heritage. Common to all this attacks were normal civilians getting victimized.
Despite of modern tools like Forensic research, Risk management strategy, Metal detector, CC TV and so many real time solving tools; we still are not able to combat violence. We are relying heavily on the machine for its unbiased performance. But, machine has shown its unfairness. Most of the modern war equipment fall prey to the insurgents who use it with cavalier attitude. Can it be made intelligent so that they can be used for legitimate purpose?
Time has come to drum up with great determination to eradicate the systems who work against the life of honest and innocence civilians. The authority around the world has to come out with concrete plan with clear consensus to work against anti social elements.
If any culprits have been found using the soil for killing people then they have to be punished and authorities should thaw them immediately. Executing plan by creating violence is never the act for social welfare and prestige. Common Discussion Platform (CDP) has to be defined where all those anti social elements can be given opportunity to put their plan and discuss with the responsible authority. This can help all of us to understand each other viewpoints, initiate discussion and debate so that we can develop better alternative which will uphold the social interest and welfare.
