We ''The People": Need to Understand Each Other "People and Culture"

[Preface: The world has undergone a complete change and been globalized as compared to localized feudal society. Here author understands the importance of unity among the various groups for the welfare of modern society. Author also tried to find out the reason for communal riot that creates disharmony in society.]

Can we say with certainty that person sitting next to us belongs to the same ethnic group? We may not be certain since the demography of our rural society has undergone a considerable change. In contrast to localized feudal society our modern society is more globalized and enriched with people from different cultures and religions. This change is witnessed in our daily life at various places like office, markets where the person next to us may be from US, China, Japan etc. Due to the demographic change in our society, people from various ethnic groups are required to work and live in a harmony for the welfare of society.

As contrast to the feudal system of our rural society, we live in a modern globalized society mixed of multiple color, culture and faces. It is more diverse in terms of people, culture, language and
religion. This is due to the people keep on moving to different places in search of comfort and happiness and wish to settle in a society where people live in convivial atmosphere.

Since society refers to an organized association of people for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purpose, it needs help of people from different ethnic group. Since there is always scarcity of various sets of skill in our society there is need for the person who can contribute the required skill. Our society invites people from various ethnic groups since different ethnic group reveal competence in certain field. People come to new place with blazing excitement for new opportunities and work hard with seer interest towards happier and healthier living. Such enthusiasm indeed contributes for the welfare of society.

It is heartbreaking to notice the difference in people and community in the name of culture and religion. People started discriminating and dividing each other in the name of culture and religion rather than going towards the wisdom it inherent. We need to understand and educate people that “Division is the symbol of weak”; togetherness among us thrives towards happy, healthier and prosperous living.

We need unity to live in harmony, since peace can only brings love, faith and confidence that thrives us for joyful living. But true world is deprived of truth. The ideal of the brotherhood of man is still far from reality. In recent times in spite of witnessing communal harmony and peace among us, members of society are disgusted of disharmony in society leading to communal riot. Disharmony is mainly because of some people being highly obsessed with their own religion and culture and hence failed to appreciate the values of others religion and culture. This obsession acts as a monster for creating disharmony among groups.

Our society gets more colorful with different culture and religion. Culture and religion embarks the discipline of life. We as a member of society need to learn from them and apply them. They show the path of humanity. With the society being more globalized, for the upliftment of social values for the welfare of society it requires better understanding among different people and culture.

As a responsible member of society we should love each other and live in harmony for the upliftment of our social values. We should thrive for providing support to under-privileged group, to liberate them from burden and ties and make them independent and respectable member and to create feelings of co-operation and integrity among each other.

What Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Islam is? They are the vision of life. Life is full of festivals and we should celebrate it to the fullest. Nature considers only one religion and that is “Humanity”. Different religion and culture have no difference since all guides us to the path of humanity for prosperous living in a harmony with different groups in a society. We should share the Glory of each other’s culture and religion and should promote it to bring togetherness and unity among the people as one unit.Our Culture and Religion have values which need to be accustomed by all of us to make us wise with the treasure of its wisdom.

It would be shameful to blame one particular sector of people or community responsible for creating disharmony amo. Each and every individual holds the responsibility and acquire the authority to contribute for the welfare of society. As a responsible member we need to take initiative for educating people to live in harmony and bring love, faith and affection among each other.

Violence in community is worse and horrible. It is the weapon of the weak. Brave people always show their intelligence. Strong are those who exhibit the power of Wisdom to educate other.

There are many paths to reach the mountain but the vision are same. We are here to understand life, earn our living with the wisdom of the Culture and Religion. We will never be gifted unless and until we work hard sincerely and faithfully towards it. Also we are not the looser unless and until we try for it. Never give up. Challenges are only for the brave.

Let us pledge to pursue towards educating people for vision of a society living in racial harmony.
