[Preface: Problems can turn out to be opportunity. Problems can return you eternal bliss. This is what author experienced when he was on the way back to home after hectic day in office. Though his journey had completely fatigued him, he has something very special and interesting to share with readers.]
Oh, just before leaving office I was informed by my driver about my car’s breakdown and will take about two hrs to repair it. Then, I decided to use public transport in order to make myself available on time at my home where my mom is ready with all the preparations
for the Birthday celebrations.
I was getting exhausted and could not stand more. I was looking for someone who can offer me a seat. Looking around I was lucky to find a place, but as I was about to sit, a small child suddenly came and reserved it in typical child innocence way by widening his legs and keeping his hands firm. He looked at my eyes hinting me “please don’t sit here; I have reserved this for someone”. I understood the innocence and fearless language of his looks toward me. In sense of pride, I gave due respect for his act with graceful smile. He in turn replied me with his innocent and blissful smile. I was much relaxed with this lovely encounter with the small child.
He told me that he is coming back soon and requested me not to sit there and also not to allow anyone to take his sit. I ensured him to trust me. Small child looked at me and gave me pleasant smile for honoring his request. He soon came back navigating the way for the old man who was walking with support of a stick. In a majestic way with the sense of pride and confidence he offered the seat to the old man. Old man in return offered his love towards the small child by allowing him to sit on his lap.
Quietly standing aside I was fortunate to witness and learn the sense of Humanity in the small child. The exhibition of the selfless act by small child is Humanity. Many young people like us think of seat for our comfort but there are only few like this small child who thinks of those who indeed need a seat.
Due to crowd in bus I was slightly pushed away from the small child. After they approached to the destination the child stood up generously and came toward me and asked me to have a seat. I felt proud of him and appreciated him for the noble message which he had honestly addressed to me and that was “Honor and Love” towards others.
With this sudden encounter with the small stranger, I realized that knowledge and lesson is everywhere in this nature, in order to learn it we need to create interest among us. Though I was embarrassed with the breakdown of my car and was forced for uncomfortable ride to home, I felt very fortunate to learn the wisdom of humanity from my encounter with small child.
